<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce electric power consumption by making it possible to put out a back light when ambient is bright. SOLUTION: A user lights the back light 24 when putting a display 12 (and a diffusion plate 14) to a closed state with respect to a base 16. As a result, the light from the back light 24 is diffused by the diffusion plate 14 and the display 12 is illuminated by this light. When the ambient brightens, the user manually raises the display 12 and the diffusion plate 14 toward a direction A in such a manner that both are held open with respect to the base 16. At this time, the back light 24 is put out. Further, the diffusion plate 14 is rotated. The display 12 may thus be illuminated by diffusing the ambient light with the diffusion plate 14. Even if the back light 24 is put out, the user is able to view the information displayed on the display 12 by the ambient light.</p> |
