PURPOSE: A sub screen brightness correcting apparatus and a method thereof are provided to compare a sub screen signal level with a main screen signal level and determines an amplified degree using a comparison result. CONSTITUTION: Main and sub screen buffers(11,12) receive main and sub screen signals, respectively. A multiple screen synthesizer(14) synthesizes the main and sub screen signals from the main and sub screen buffers(11,12) with a multiple screen by a controller(16) and outputs Y, B-Y, and R-Y signals. A chroma section(15) receives the multiple screen synthesized signal and a positive detecting level from a positive current detector(18) and controls a total screen brightness. A high voltage generator(17) generates a positive current of a high voltage. A positive current detector(18) detects a positive current by the high voltage generator(17).
