摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the behavior of a vehicle by introducing such an arrangement that the driver is informed certainly of the fact that the vehicle has approached its limit of cornering run. SOLUTION: A cornering limit judging means M4 of a control means U to control a motor 27 of a motor-driven power steering device is fed with the road surface friction coefficientμpresumed by a road surface condition sensing means M3 and the steering angleθs sensed by a steering angle sensing means S2. When the vehicle approaches the limit of cornering run with the increase of the steering angleθs, the judging means M4 increases the correction factor K1 and corrects the target current IMS calculated by a target current setting means M1 in the incremental direction. This increases the steering assist torque generated by the motor 27 of the motor-driven power steering device S, and the steering reaction force which the driver receives from the steering wheel decreases, so that the driver receives the same sense as when the vehicle has got the limit of cornering run to result in tire slip and can know previously about approaching the limit of cornering run before the vehicle reaches the limit of cornering run actually.
