CHARACTER INPUT METHOD AND CHARACTER INPUT SYSTEM IN SYSTEM HAVING INPUT DEVICE HAVING DIRECTION INPUT PART

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make inputtable KANA (Japanese syllabary) characters in a smaller space and at a lower cost than the input of KANA characters performed via a keyboard by combining the input of a direction input part with the button input by means of a joy pad. SOLUTION: A direction input part 111 and the buttons 120 are depressed and the depressing sequence condition is varied to select an input KANA characters. A voiceless sound consonant of the input KANA character is selected by inputting or not inputting a specific direction to the part 111. A vowel of the input KANA character is selected by depressing once a vowel button 120 and then a voiceless sound form of the input KANA character is selected. A button equal to the vowel button 120 that is used for selecting the voiceless sound form is depressed again after the voiceless sound form of the input KANA character is selected to select a voiced sound form. Then a button equal to the vowel button 120 that is used for selecting the voiced sound form is depressed again after the voiced sound form of the input KANA character is selected to select a p-sound form.
