<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a finger opening/closing mechanism of a recording medium library device which improves the opening and closing speed and clamping force of a pair of finger members, is simple in construction and is low in cost. SOLUTION: This finger opening/closing mechanism is used when automatically putting cartridges 22 housing recording media held in a prescribed position in, for example, the magnetic tape library device into and out of their holding positions and has a pair of the freely openable and closable finger members 2 and 3 for holding the cartridges 22, energizing members (coil springs) for energizing a pair of the finger members 2 and 3 in a closing direction, a push opening member 4 which pushes open a pair of the finger members 2 and 3 when advanced opposite to the elastic force of the coil spring between a pair of the finger members 2 and 3 and a solenoid 14 for moving the push opening member between a standby position and the advance position described above.</p> |
