Parallel lifting chains (5, 6, 7) of a fork lift truck (1) mast assembly (2) are connected to an anchor assembly (10) that allows relative longitudinal movement so that the chains (5, 6, 7) are all under similar tension when the carriage (3) is raised or lowered. The chains (5, 6, 7) are able to move in a longitudinal direction automatically without manual adjustment and whilst under load. |
