摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of engine capable of effectively performing segregation of NOx from a lean NOx catalyst and reduction in the segregated NOx, when catalyst is refreshed. SOLUTION: An engine control device is equipped with a response control means (injection amount calculating means 65, injection timing setting means 66, etc.), to change the response of a suction flow adjusting means in the decremental direction, where the set air-fuel ratio in uniform operating region is set atλ<=1, a deciding means 57 to decide whether it is practicable to execute the purification of a lean NOx catalyst, an ignition timing adjusting means 70, and a catalyst refresh control means 71, wherein the means 71 retards the decremental motion with the aid of the response control means at transition, from the stratified operating region to the uniform operating region and generates a transition to the air-fuel ratioλ<=1, from the time when the suction amount for filling the engine cylinder is greater than the value in the uniform operation region whereto the transition is made.</p>
