PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microporous polyolefin fiber having highly microporous structure and high surface pore density. SOLUTION: The objective microporous polyolefin fiber having a microporous structure containing interconnected pores having an average pore diameter of 0.01-0.1μm and having a void ratio of 10-50% and a surface pore density of 10-50% is produced by spinning a conjugate fiber composed of a layer A of a polyolefin composition composed of 65-85 wt.% polyolefin and 15-35 wt.% fine particles having an average particle diameter of 0.01-1μm and a layer B composed of an easily peelable synthetic resin incompatible with the polyolefin composition and drawing the spun conjugate fiber to peel the layer A and the layer B and convert the layer A into a microporous structure. |
