PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce physical quantity, to reduce a mounting area, to reduce the number of cycles necessary for division, and to quicken division in a divider which operates the division of a binary number. SOLUTION: This divider is provided with a pre-processing part 3 which executes the normalization of a dividend RR, the normalization of a divisor DD, the multiplication of a normalized divisor D by three, and the calculation of a difference SC between normalizing shift amounts necessary for the normalization of the dividend RR and normalizing shift amounts necessary for the normalization of the divisor DD, and a dividing part 4 which calculates this following formula; a normalized dividend R ÷ the normalized divisor D by using redundant binary expression with a code with a radix as 4, and outputs a quotient Q by dividing the quotient Q into a positive number value QP and a negative number value QM, and a post-processing part 5 which inputs the positive number value QP and the negative number value QM and the normalizing shift amounts SC, and certifies a quotient QQ calculated by this following formula; the dividend RR ÷ the divisor DD. |
