<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a fixed number of menu items and at the same time, enable the contents of each menu item to be easily recognized, even if a display screen is relatively narrow. SOLUTION: Each menu item such as 'one's home', 'search from telephone number', 'search from address', 'search from the Japanese syllabary', and 'searching from memory point' is successively displayed on a display 10. At an initial point, characters of 'one's home', the first item are displayed larger as compared with other items. When a user operates selection keys KU and KD on the menu display, items, to be enlarged for display vertically. Since the selected items are enlarged for display, a large number of items can be displayed, even if the display screen is narrow.</p> |
