The device for separation of material pieces of electrically conductive material (1) from a mixture of such pieces and those non-conductive (1') has a separation channel (5), which has a V-shaped cross-section, whose V legs are formed by two separated electrically conductive parts (6), forming part of an electrical circuit. A transport device (3) feeds forward the two kinds of material pieces in the mixture, one after another into the separation cchannel, so that each piece comes in contact with the channel two electrically conductive parts. The electrical circuit is closed when a conductive piece reaches the channel, but is held open when a non-conductive piece arrives in the channel. A separating mechanism functions when the electrical circuit is closed and activates the removal of the conductive piece from the channel. |
