PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a correct pronunciation by inputting a specific character specifying a part of speech or a number so that a homonym is read on the basis of the part of speech or meaning when a user inputs a document optionally and uses the homonym. SOLUTION: When the user inputs the document optionally and uses the homonym, the user inputs the specific character specifying the part of speech or number so that the homonym is read on the basis of the part of speech or the meaning; and the inputted specific characters are converted into control codes to a text pronouncing means 5 and sent to the text pronouncing means 5. The text pronouncing means 5 generates pronunciation data from the sent character strings according to an English rule, but a list of words which can be controlled in the text pronouncing means 5 as to words given control codes is provided, control codes and pronunciation data are stored by words, and pronunciation data are selected and generated according to the control codes.
