PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the assembling of a coffin and make the coffin compactly foldable by foldably connecting a side plate, an end plate and a bottom member by a flexible sheet stuck thereto, and performing the connection of the side plate to the end plate by the dovetail joint of fitting a dovetail plug to the respective dovetail grooves. SOLUTION: A side plate 1 and an end plate are butted to a side plate fixing plate 2 and an end plate fixing plate 4 and connected on the inner surface side of a coffin through a flexible sheet 5, respectively. As the flexible sheet 5, a synthetic resin sheet such as nylon is suitably used, and it is stuck by use of an adhesive double coated tape and used instead of a hinge. According to this, the contact area of the connection part is increased to improve the strength. Dovetail grooves are formed in the contact parts of the side plate 1 and the end plate 3, respectively, and a dovetail plug is fitted thereto to mutually connect both the plates 1, 3. When the end plate 3 is folded inside, and the side plate 1 is folded so as to put on the end plate 3, the coffin can be folded to a thickness of about the total of a bottom plate 8 and two side plates 1 and one end plate without generating an excessive clearance each between the plates. |
