An electrophotographic developer has a resin binder, a colorant and a separating agent. The binder includes components soluble in tetrahydrofuran and having a molecular weight distribution peaking between 1000 and 1000 and a half-width not exceeding 15000. Independent claims are included for the following: (a) A container of the above developer. (b) Electrophotographic apparatus has support for a latent image and the above developer. (c) Forming an electrophotographic image as in (b). Preferred Features: The half-width does not exceed 10000. The resin also includes 5 - 40 wt % components that are insoluble in chloroform. The soluble components form islands in a continuous phase of low molecular weight components.
