IMPROVED PARTS STRIPPING MECHANISM IN ACCORDION OPERATION

The results are improved for the accordion process in the punch and die of cylindrical containers for batteries. This can be achieved by using apparatus which has the punch and the die located in one movable feature and a compressible rubber ring located in a stationary holder, whereby the friction force between the ring and the part strips the part from the punch and die. The invention is particularly suitable for easy transferring of the container into and out of the die set.
