<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hardening method of a rolling member, which is suitable when the amount of product is relatively small and there are a wide variety of products to be produced, and in which a lead time can be shortened owing to in-line and the whole body can be hardened so as to obtain a rolling member having little unevenness in the hardness and the structure. SOLUTION: The arrangement of a high-frequency induction heating coil 40 to the rolling member according to the shape and the dimension of the rolling member (e.g. external tooth gear blank S), is set and the rolling member is rotated around an axis under a state, in which the rolling member is oppositely disposed to the high-frequency induction heating coil 40, and also, the rolling member is induction-heated to a prescribed hardening temp. by supplying high-frequency current to the high-frequency induction heating coil 40. Successively to this heating, the whole surface layer temp. and core part temp. in the rolling member are heated and held of an almost mutually same temp. and just after that, hardening treatment is applied by cooling the rolling member heated and held, and in this way, the rolling member having a required hardened hardness and hardened structure is obtd.</p> |
