摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device having an increased opening rate by forming a laminated body on the surface of the one transparent substrate facing a liquid crystal in such a manner that the laminated body refracts the light transmitting through the body to the converging direction. SOLUTION: A gate signal line 2 is formed along the x-direction on the surface of a transparent substrate 1, and an insulating film 5 such as a SiO2- based film is formed all over the surface of the transparent substrate 1 where the gate signal line 2 is formed. A thin film transistor TFT is formed as overlapped on the gate signal line 2 shown in the right below the figure in the pixel region, and a semiconductor layer 6 is formed on the insulating film 5 in this region. Then a first protective film 8 and a second protective film 9 are formed all over the processed transparent substrate 1, and a contact hole 10 is formed in the center of the extended part 7B of the source electrode 7. The light entering the pixel electrode 11 formed on the upper face of the second protective film 9 passes along the optical path shown as arrows in the figure and refracted to converge near the center of the pixel region.
