PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic ultrasonic probe capable of distinguishing depth information of a defect or the kind of the defect, capable of improving detection capacity, and capable of inspecting on a wide range of a metal plate surface. SOLUTION: This electromagnetic ultrasonic probe 1 comprises a magnet 2 for generating a magnetic field and a sensor coil 3 for generating an eddy current, and generates an ultrasonic wave into test material, and receives a reflected wave of the ultrasonic wave reflected by a defect of the test material or the like. And, the magnet 2 is arranged so as to locate the front and back surfaces of the test material on both faces, and the sensor coils 3U, 3D are installed respectively on each of a pole face N and a pole face S of the magnet 2, and besides, ultrasonic wave generators (ultrasonic wave generating parts) 4BU, 4BD for outputting tone burst type transmission signals having variable frequencies simultaneously to the respective sensor coils 3U, 3D in the same phase or in different phases. |
