PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently absorbing (meth)acrylic acid and/or (meth)acrolein while effectively preventing polymerization of (meth)acrylic acid and/or (meth)acrolein in an absorber, and also to provide an apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: This method for absorbing (meth)acrylic acid and/or (meth) acrolein is to install packings 3c having relatively higher scrubbing efficiency on the upstream side and packings and/or trays 3a, 3b having relatively lower polymerizing ability on the downstream side of a current containing a solvent in an absorber 1 where a gas containing (meth)acrylic acid and/or (meth)acrolein obtained by catalytic vapor phase oxidation is subjected to countercurrent contact with the solvent.
