<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic lighting system for a direction indicator which can correctly transmit the state of a vehicle itself and the intention of a driver to surrounding vehicles such as following vehicles by determining the intention of the driver whether to turn to the right or left and appropriately and automatically lighting the direction indicator. SOLUTION: This system is provided with a vehicle state detecting means 10 for detecting the traveling state of a vehicle, an intersection detecting means 20 for detecting information on an intersection and a direction indicator 30, and also is equipped with a right or left turn determining means 40 for determining the intention of a driver whether to turn to the right or left based on these information and for automatically lightening the direction indicator 30. Thereby, the intention of the driver can be detected and the direction indicator 30 can be certainly lighted before turning to the right or left. Therefore, lighting delay and lighting failure of the direction indicator 30 can be prevented, and the state of the vehicle itself and the intention of the driver can be correctly transmitted to the surrounding vehicles such as the following vehicles.</p> |
