PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a functional material good in appearance free from fouling by an adhesive by laminating a wet gel-like functional material between transparent substrates and laminating the adhesive formed in at least one of a sheet shape, a tape shape, and a string shape as a main shape between the substrates. SOLUTION: In the production of a functional material laminate 1 such as sound-proofing glass, a wet gel-like functional material 4 is laminated between substrates made transparent partially or totally, and a seal 5 of a sealing material is laminated adjacently to the functional material 4 between the peripheral parts of the both substrates 2, 3. and on the outside of the seal 5, a seal 6 of an adhesive formed in at least one of a sheet shape, a tape shape, and a string shape as a main shape is laminated between the substrates 2, 3 so that the functional material 4 is sealed in two stages between the substrates 2, 3 by the seals 5, 6. In this way, the deterioration of adhesion is prevented by eliminating the catching of bubbles by air etc. to improve durability against sunlight and heat.
