PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas purifying device having high educing effect for soot as well as SOF. SOLUTION: On the way of an exhaust pipe 3 through which exhaust gas 2 circulates, a soot reducing catalyst 4 including at least copper oxide, cerium oxide and zeolite. Thereby, the porous zeolite adsorbs the soot well, high oxidizing action of the copper oxide acts on both soot itself adsorbed and oil-like SOF which is adhered to surrounding of the soot and is not susceptible to gasification. The cerium oxide occludes oxygen in an oxygen excessive atmosphere and then emits the occluded oxygen when oxygen concentration is lowered, thereby to support the oxidizing action of the copper oxide. Accordingly, the soot and SOF start burning at lower temperature than in a case of using conventional oxidation catalyst of noble metals, so that the soot and SOF are efficiently purified by oxidation. |
