PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seismic retrofitting construction method allowing construction load to be reduced as much as possible.SOLUTION: The seismic retrofitting construction method is provided in which an outer restraining member 10 covering the periphery of a brace 4 constituting an existing steel frame structure is attached to the brace 4. The seismic retrofitting construction method comprises the steps of: assembling a plurality of segment members S1-S4 to the periphery of the brace 4, the segment members S1-S4 being shaped in such a way that the outer restraining member 10 is divided in an axial direction of the brace 4 and a direction perpendicular to the axial direction; and jointing the neighboring segment members S1-S4 assembled to the periphery of the brace 4 to each other. Bolts 6 are preferably used for jointing the segment member S1-S4 to the brace 4. |
