PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent generation of malfunction in an IC by providing, for the IC, a means of clamping the voltage of an input signal at a clamping voltage lower than power supply voltage. SOLUTION: This input signal protective circuit for IC generates an intermediate potential VG between positive side power supply voltage VCC consisting of predetermined positive constant voltage and the negative side power supply voltage VSS of predetermined negative constant voltage, and sets an intermediate potential VG to a reference level for setting positive side clamping voltage and negative side clamping voltage. The protective circuit consists of a protective circuit by positive side clamping voltage and a protective circuit by negative side clamping voltage. It is thus possible to clamp the voltage higher than power supply voltage generated at an input signal positively, and prevent generation of erroneous operation in the IC.
