<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the perforation on the whole periphery of an oblong cylindrical material, especially a cigarette as much as possible. SOLUTION: This perforating apparatus for forming holes 38 on the periphery surface of an actually oblong and cylindrical material, especially a cigarette has at least one light source for generating at least one energetic light beam 34 for forming holes in a material 10, a rolling drum having a rotary axis line 20 and a periphery surface 40, a partner area 18 for generating a rotary movement of the material by using its longitudinal axis line as the center, and forming a turning passage 12 through which the material passes, and light beam-guiding means 32, 36 and 40 for guiding the light beam so that the material moving through the turning passage 12 and present at least within some section may be irradiated with the beam.</p> |
