<p>PURPOSE:To provide an optical coupling element comprising a precoated light emitting element chip in which the light emitting element chip is protected against being exposed from a precoat resin at the corner on the upper face thereof while reducing the quantity of precoat resin being applied. CONSTITUTION:The optical coupling element comprises a light emitting element chip 1 mounted on a lead frame 3 and coated with a precoat resin 5 wherein the upper face of the light emitting element chip 1 is formed hemispherically.</p> |
