SWASH PLATE TYPE COMPRESSOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a swash plate compressor to reduce a fall load exerted on a piston and have high durability and reliability. SOLUTION: A swash plate type compressor comprises a cylinder block 1 in which a plurality of cylinder bores 6 are formed; a shaft 5 rotatably supported at the central part of the cylinder block 1; a swash plate 10 rotated along with rotation of the shaft 5; a crank chamber 8 in which the swash plate 10 is contained; and a piston 7 coupled to the swash plate 10 through a pair of shoes 60 and 61 and slid in a cylinder bore 6 along with rotation of the swash plate 10. The piston 7 consists of a cylinder part 7a slid in the cylinder bore 6, and a bridge part 7b rotatably supporting a pair shoes 60 and 61. The bridge part 7b is protruded radially externally of the cylinder block 1 from the bottom part of a cylinder part 7a by a coupling part 7c extending radially externally from the cylinder part 7a. In a so formed swash plate compressor, a protrusion part 11 protruding to the crank chamber 8 side in a range not to interfere with the coupling part 7c is formed at the central part of the end face on the front side of the cylinder block 1.
