PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carbonization device whose positioning and assembling works can more easily carried out than conventional devices and which is equipped with a lightweight heating chamber. SOLUTION: The heating chamber 2 in the carbonization device surrounds the carbonization chamber 3, while maintaining a prescribed distance. The wall of the heating chamber 2 comprises a wall comprising an inside bulkhead material 16 and an outside heat-insulating material 10. The wall of the heating chamber 2 is supported and fixed by supporting and fixing members 17 disposed between the wall of the heating chamber 2 and the wall of the carbonization chamber 3. The bulkhead material 16 is preferably a 0.3 to 1.5 mm-thick thin steel plate.
