IPS-VA MODE LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY HAVING MULTI DOMAIN

摘要

PURPOSE: An IPS-VA(in plane switching-vertical aligned) mode liquid crystal display having multi-domain is provided to realize perfect viewing angles at every direction and prevent the generation of color shift by forming symmetrical line type electric fields with respect to a gate bus line direction. CONSTITUTION: An IPS-VA mode liquid crystal display having multi-domain includes top and bottom substrates facing to each other, a liquid crystal layer injected between the substrates, and first and second electrodes(23) formed on an inner surface of the bottom substrate for generating electric fields to drive the liquid crystal, wherein liquid crystal molecules are aligned almost perpendicularly to a surface of the substrate when no electric fields are formed, and tilted right and left when first electric fields are formed by 20-70° with a first direction and second electric fields are formed symmetrically to the first electric fields by the first direction as a predetermined voltage is applied to the first and second electrodes, thereby forming four symmetrical liquid crystal domains in a unit pixel space.
