<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate torque shortage when an induction motor is started by the output of a solar cell. SOLUTION: This drive power generation apparatus 10 uses a solar cell 12 as a power supply. Electric power generated by the solar cell 12 is supplied to an induction motor 14 through a diode 20 and an inverter 22. Then, a pump 26 is operated. A control circuit 18 turns on a transistor 21 when a solar radiation is small. The short-circuit current of the solar cell 12 is measured by a current sensor 16 so as to wait until a current Ia which can start is obtained. Then, the control circuit 18 starts the pump 26 with a low-frequency control operation in which the inverter 2 is set to f=(V/2.5)-10 at a point of time when a current generated by the solar cell 12 reaches the current Ia. The induction motor 14 can be operated efficiently with the frequency control operation of the control circuit 18.</p> |
