PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an unauthorized reception station from accessing broadcast information and to allow an authorized reception station to access the broadcast information. SOLUTION: The method and system are devised such that an authorized reception station 2 decodes encrypted information broadcast from a transmission station 6. This method includes a step where a prescribed subscriber key value is stored in the authorized reception station and a decoding key is generated by using the prescribed subscriber key. In a next step, the transmission station 6 broadcasts a signal including the encrypted information. After the broadcast signal is received by the authorized reception station, the authorized reception station executes a prescribed algorithm. The prescribed algorithm uses the generated decoding key numeral to decode the encrypted information from the received signal.
