<p>A Standard Parts Metering System (SPMS) is a method and process for collecting, inventoring, stocking and performing metered delivery of standard parts to an assembly operation. The SPMS having management of external logistics (1, 2), metering warehouse (3), metering system cycle (4), parts control (5), and metering system disciplines (6). The metering warehouse includes location profile (7), receiving process (8), warehouse management (9), and pick sequence load process (10). Standard parts are collected from multiple supplier in an optimized pick-up route, and delivered to a standard parts metering warehouse. The standard parts are broken into production shift quantities based upon production data of the assembly line operation and labelled according to part type or identity and a drop zone then stocked in the metering warehouse according to an optimized route and delivered directly to predestals at work stations according to schedule of the assembly operation.</p> |
