PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a language learning device and method for deciding the syntax structure even when sensitive information whose semantics is not clearly given is applied, and for learning the syntax rule of inputted language based on the decided syntax structure. SOLUTION: This language learning device is provided with a syntax structure analyzing part 11 having a voice recognition part 111 for recognizing a word string from input voice data Oi based on the voice pattern information of a vocabulary information storing device 13, a semantic analyzing part 112 for detecting a picture pattern from input moving image data Vi by using information included in the vocabulary information storing device 13, and for analyzing the relation, and for obtaining semantic expression using words corresponding to each detected picture pattern, and a relationship analyzing part 113 for deciding the syntax structure of the word string by collating the extracted word string and the semantic expression information outputted by the semantic analyzing part 112, and a syntax rule learning part 12 for learning a syntax rule by using the decided syntax structure information. |
