摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for an internal combustion engine capable of restricting deterioration of exhaust characteristics to the minimum by diagnosing nonconformity of heating accelerating control in an early stage in executing the heating acceleration control to catalyst in which increase of intake air quantity is combined with delay angle control to ignition timing. SOLUTION: An intagrated intake air quantity parameter GAIRSUM equivalent to an integrated value of intake air quantity after starting an engine is determined (S143), and at the timing when the integrated intake air quantity parameter GAIRSUM reaches a specified quantity GAIRREF after completion of catalyst heating acceleration control, it is determined that a trouble in which catalyst beating acceleration control is not correctly executed is generated when an absolute value of deviation between an estimated catalyst temperature TCATREF at the time of GAIRSUM=GAIRREF and a detected catalyst temperature TCAT is larger than a specified deviation quantity DTCATR.</p>
