<p>A carton sealer capable of forming a non-adhesive outer surface-carrying folded portion at one end of an adhesive tape fed so as to join together flaps of a carton being transferred. The carton sealer is adapted to join together by an adhesive tape flaps of a carton being transferred, and comprises a mechanism for attaching an adhesive tape, which is fed from an adhesive tape supply section, to a tape attaching area extending from a lead region on a front surface of a forwardly moving carton to a tail region on a rear surface thereof via a joint region extending in the carton transfer direction, a cutter for cutting a rear end of the adhesive tape, and a suction head for forming a folded portion on a front end portion of a subsequent adhesive tape formed by the cutting operation, a reduced pressure generated by the suction head and working on a non-adhesive surface of the adhesive tape causing the same surface to be sucked, whereby the adhesive tape is folded back to form a non-adhesive outer surface-carrying folded portion.</p> |
