PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document preparation device with a print range display function realizing document preparation and editing while confirming a printable range on a document editing screen at the time of document creation and to provide a print range display method and a storage medium having a program for print range display processing stored thereon. SOLUTION: The document preparation device having a display means for displaying document data in an image area, a control means for editing the document data displayed on the display means, an input means for sending indications and choices and inputting the document data to the control means, and an output means for printing the document data edited by the control means has a print range display function including a printer setting information acquiring means for acquiring the setting information of the output means and a print range display means for displaying a printable range in the image area of the display means according to the obtained setting information on the output means.
