VARIABLE DISPLACEMENT COMPRESSOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable displacement compressor capable of directly detecting load torque to apply to a driving shaft of the compressor. SOLUTION: This variable displacement compressor is furnished with a load torque detector 63 to detect load torque working on a driving shaft 6 as reaction of compression motion. The load torque detector 63 is provided on the outside of compressor housings 1, 2, 3 and 4 by using a pulley 61 connected to work to an end part of the driving shaft 6, and it is furnished with a magnet strictive detection part 64 to displace mechanical distortion caused by torsion of the driving shaft 6 to an electric signal.
