<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an initial synchronizing method by which cell searching can be performed at a high speed. SOLUTION: In an initial synchronizing method for an asynchronous cellular system between DS-CDMA base stations, which transmit the spread code sequence which is characteristic of each cell and corresponds to each communication channel, an identification code (common identification code) which is common to the cells, and the long code group identifying short code of each cell by multiplexing codes upon another, threshold discrimination is performed on a correlative power value (the maximum correlative value sum) and arbitrary threshold is performed as a first (second) step, and when the power value does not exceed the threshold, the discrimination is again performed from the first step. Then the correlation of a long code the detected correlative value which exceeds the arbitrary threshold is detected as a third step, and the long code having a correlative value larger than the threshold is discriminated as the long code of a target cell. When synchronization is detected, initial synchronization is completed, and when no synchronization is detected, operation is made to return the processing to the first step.</p> |
