PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a shrink proofing agent, as a negative electrode in a lead-acid battery, capable of providing longer lifetime of the lead-acid battery. SOLUTION: A negative electrode is provided having negative electrode active substance including therein slightly soluble thiolignin having no sulfonic group or an aromatic nucleus of thiolignin and fluoride of thiolignin, having a side chain substituted with fluorine. Consequently, it is possible to stably achieve a shrink proof effect of the negative electrode active substance for a long period, even under high temperatures. |
