摘要 A television viewer advantageously receives targeted advertising in accordan ce with his/her television viewing habits. From knowledge of which channels a viewer selects, a determination is made as to which television programming and/or commercials the viewer received, thereby enabling establishment of the viewer's "commercial preference." By applying a set of advertising preference rules to the viewer 's commercial preference, the viewer's preference for various types of advertising is established. Thereafter, the viewer is provided with advertising in accordance with the viewer's advertising preference.
