PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method applicable to a negative image forming material capable of directly recording from digital date using infrared laser, excellent in image forming property and free from the generation of the deterioration of developing property with time, which is caused by the characteristic of a developer, or the decrease of printing durability. SOLUTION: The negative image forming material provided with a photosensitive layer containing an infrared adsorbent A, a radical generating agent B, a radical polymerizable compound C and a binder polymer D on a supporting body is image-exposed with the infrared laser and developed with a weak alkaline aqueous solution containing a carbonate and a surfactant and having pH 7-12. As the surfactant, an anionic, particularly anionic based surfactant having a sulfonate or a salt of mono sulfate is preferable. |
