PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive panel-type speaker, having a simple configuration and high sound quality and one that needs no excessive space, even if used in combination with a planar display device. SOLUTION: A panel-type speaker (10) adopts a vibration mode (DM) system, that is provided with exciters (12a-12d) each of which includes a magnetic circuit and a voice coil and with a planar diaphragm (11) excited by the exciters. Then the diaphragm (11) of this panel-type speaker is configured, so that it serves also as an optical filter or a front lighting panel of a display device (20), such as a liquid crystal display panel or a plasma display panel. |
