<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image transmission system, that can transmit a moving image and a still image via a transmission network and display a still image with high definition at an arbitrary cross section of the moving image. SOLUTION: The image transmission system is provided with a video camera 1, that picks up the image of a monitor object to provide an output of a video signal, an image encoder 2 that generates encoded moving image data and encoded still image data, based on the video signal, a transmission network via which the moving picture data and the still image data are transmitted, ad an image decoder 4 that decodes the moving image data and the still image data sent via the transmission network 3. Since the image encoder 2 transmits the moving image data and the still image data to the image decoder 4 via the transmission network 3, while temporally synchronizing both data, a still image with high definition at an arbitrary cross section of the moving image displayed on a display section of the image decoder 4 can be displayed. Since a conventional channel is used as the transmission network, cost can be reduced.</p> |
