PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep efficient compression operation by previously avoiding a low efficiency condition operation in a variable displacement compressor. SOLUTION: This compressor is variably controlled the discharge capacity by using a control valve capable of duty controlling from the outside. When the duty ratio Dt of a driving signal for determining the target value of discharge capacity control is in the specified determination value Dj or higher, the variable control to the discharge capacity corresponding to the duty ratio Dt is allowed. When the duty ratio Dt is less than the specified determination value Dj, the variable control of the discharge capacity by the duty control is prohibited, to uniformly forced to and operate in Dt=0 (an operation in the minimum discharge amount).
