SOLUTION: This variable length cutoff folding machine is provided with cutting elements 3a, 3b, 3c capable of moving in plural linear forms to move in the same direction as the web direction to cut a web to sections, and plural gripping elements 4a, 4b, 4c interacting with the cutting elements.
