PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal device which is a semi-transmissive type liquid crystal device and is able to clearly display, and electronic equipment using the same. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal device has a liquid crystal between a pair of substrates 8, 38, and electrodes 22, 23 are formed on the opposite faces of each substrates 8, 38, respectively, and on the substrate of the electrode 22 on one substrate 8 of them, a reflecting layer 4 made of a metallic film is formed, and the reflecting layer 4 is partly provided with windows 4a for transmitting light therethrough toward the other substrate 38 from the reflecting layer 4. The reflecting layer functions as a black matrix at the time of transmitting display. |
