PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means to realize a function of a polarized light separating plate and light transmission body used for enhance the display luminance of a liquid crystal display element by the single light transmission body, by using efficiently an illuminating light ray being made the incident on a light transmission body in a back light. SOLUTION: In the plate-like light transmission body consisting of the transparent solid material composing the back light of the liquid crystal display element, the fine ruggedness having the polarized light separation is formed in a light-emitting surface, and the prism-like ruggedness to reflect the light from a light source is provided in the surface opposed to the light-emitting surface.
