PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brush for detecting rotation realizing effective rotation control and to operate a brush for electrode and the brush for detecting rotation, while eliminating interference, through a simple arrangement. SOLUTION: A support base 14 is provided with a brush contact preventing wall 14a for blocking approach of one brush 17 for detecting rotation to a brush 15 for electrode, and a brush contact preventing wall 14b for blocking approach of the brush 15 for electrode to the brush 17 for detecting rotation. A through-hole 14c is made in the end face of the support base 14 on the side for inserting and holding a rotary shaft 13 at a position for viewing the forward end of the brush 15 for electrode and the vicinity of the forward ends of the brush contact preventing wall 14b and the brush 17 for detecting rotation. Each extended part at the other end of the brush 15 for electrode and the extended part of the brush 17 for detecting rotation are projected outwardly, as terminals 19, 20 for external connection, from the end wall of the support base 14.
