METHOD OF DETECTING CAPACITIVE OBJECT IN VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide not only accurate information as to the existence of an object but also accurate information as to any kind of the object by a slight required time and labor concerned in a device, in a method for detecting the capacitive object in a vehicular seat, wherein the vehicular seat 1 has a capacitor 2 arranged in a backrest part 1" and a capacitor 3 arranged in a seat part 1', and wherein capacitances thereof are affected by the object. SOLUTION: This method includes a step for impressing an alternating current voltage on the capacitors to determine the capacitances thereof individually, a step for finding out an evaluation result for the object based on a value of the each capacitance of the both capacitances using a value table, and a step for bringing a passenger protecting device attached to the seat respondingly into an active condition or a nonactive condition when the both evaluation results get consistent each other as to the kind of the object.
