PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control unit which can stably secure the molten metal surface level in a mold by solving the problem points in the measurements of aγ-ray level meter and a thermocouple level meter in the case of performing the powder casting, in the molten metal surface level control in the small cross sectional mold. SOLUTION: This control unit for molten metal surface level in the mold is composed of theγ-ray type mold level meter 2 for continuously detecting the molten metal surface level in the small cross sectional mold, the thermocouple type level meter 1 for continuously detecting the same level, a level signal synthetic treating filter 5 for calculating a high accurate mold level signal from a mold level signal detected with theγ-ray type level meter and a mold level signal detected with the thermocouple type level meter, and a control device 6 which performs a PID operation, etc., while using this mold level signal calculated with the level signal synthetic treating filter as the input and outputs as the opening degree of a stopper of the speed of pinch rolls. |
